Nicely Done! Love to see one on G. tsugae.

Thanks Bill! I'll be doing a little mushroom hunting over the next couple weeks. I hope to find some G. tsugae. If I do, I will take some photos and do a write up. Been looking into Piptoporus betulinus (birch polypore) recently. This is another that seems to deserve a lot more attention than it has gotten. So many mushrooms and so little time. :-)

this is great! Thanks for the write up. I'll be paying these lovelies more attention when I am out and about in the woods. Cape Breton/Unama'ki, Nova Scotia

You are welcome. I love this species and I'm happy that this may have helped inspire you a little.

I’d like to know if and where these can be available for purchase. I am not comfortable with mushroom identification and foraging. I love medicinal mushrooms and will gladly support ethical and reliable small businesses. I am an EastWest student.
